  Is America Evil?

  so let me get this straight, it's perfectly ok for you to point to the wrongs in other people's religions, it's perfectly ok for you to say it's great for pagan world's and cultures to be destroyed. it's perfectly ok for you to call other people's ideals and morals evil and somehow that's not you judging people...

  now THAT is what i call interesting

  Is going from the JWs to another Religion just a "Rebound?"

  *a rebound is the need to fill a void with something we partly had confort in; whether in romance or faith.... .

  i posted the following in another thread, and i welcome your feedback - especially if you disagree with my logic.

  "as per one of my notes, my biggest fear is my, our, natural tendency for confirmation bias.

  to date JWism has defined my life and i hate that TRUTH

  and i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.

  but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .

  how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

  this is not easy for sure.

  like you i have a very small family. in terms of replacing them, i have some very very close friends that i consider family and i guess in that sense, they've been replaced, though the honest truth is, growing up in the cult forced me further from my family and closer to the friends i felt would accept me for who i am and not what i believed.

  it's tough but hang in there. don't be afraid of getting old. if anything, be afraid of letting them define the rest of your life while preventing you from fully enjoying the opportunities in front of you.

  the new system is now. all the things you were going to put off for then, do now!

  with the exception of petting an adult tiger or something like that...i wouldn't recommend that lol

  my italian friend loves going to the "feasts" that occur in italy, boston or nyc.

  these feasts feature a "saint" with dollar bills pinned around her and they parade the saint in a long procession and chant "viva (whomever)".

  they are quite serious about this and are proud to talk about the past generations of observers who appreciated the events.

  lol too true. question though...is this alcoholic a happy drunk? a horny drunk? and if a horny drunk...is she hot?

  im an ex jw, out 3yrs after spending 24yrs of my life in the organisation.

  i spend most of my time on fb exposing the org and having conversations with active jws.

  i have recently agree to a 'bible study' with a woman, a grandmother, who is a regular pioneer and has only been a jw for 5yrs.

  1. what proof is there that there is a god?

  2. what proof is there that the bible is god's word and not one of the many many many other holy texts out there?

  3. what proof is there that the bible is accurate or false?

  4. if there are false teachings in the bible, does that disprove that the bible is god's word?

  as far as the original qestion, there's something to be said about association. church doesn't have to be a rebound at all.
